FUNDING SAFER ROADS IN TANGNEY
The Albanese Government continues to improve road safety in Western Australia, delivering funding for safety upgrades at four black spots in Tangney.
The projects will deliver:
- Roundabout modification and speed cushions at Norma Road and McCoy Street
- Roundabout installation at Munro Road and Ardross Street
- Speed cushions and raised platforms on Riverton Drive East
- Street lighting upgrades on High Road between Nicholson Road and Meadowbrook Drive
to help mitigate a high number of crashes at these locations.
The Albanese Government is committing over $2.7 million to the four projects as part of $14 million allocated to WA roads under the 2026-27 Black Spot Program funding round.
The projects were recommended by the Western Australia Black Spot Consultative Panel. This panel is comprised of local stakeholders to ensure nominations of the highest priority and importance to the local community are recommended for approval.
The Albanese Government has increased annual Black Spot Program funding to $150 million, improving road safety at numerous sites right across the country.
It is a key part of our commitment to reducing fatalities and serious injuries on our roads.
Anyone can nominate a Black Spot for consideration, including individuals, community groups and local councils.
